
Design Engineer
We are looking for a Design Engineer – Mechatronics for our client.
We are looking for a skilled Design Engineer within Mechatronics, with a strong focus on project deliveries and close collaboration across functions and with suppliers. You will join a highly motivated team within the Handheld R&D Power Systems division at the client, located in Huskvarna, Sweden. Power Systems is responsible for the development of the powertrain for both battery-powered and petrol-driven products. We develop next-generation handheld products for the forest industry and urban environments, where performance, reliability, and efficiency are key.
In this role, you will directly work with electromechanical solutions, supporting both new developments and ongoing product improvements. Your responsibilities include developing the mechatronic system including electric motors and integration into our products, from concept to industrialization.
To succeed in this position, you are proactive, curious, and driven, with a strong interest in technical details. You enjoy working both independently and in cross-functional teams, communicating clearly, and are comfortable making technical decisions.
Key tasks
- Drive electromechanical concept development and support feasibility studies
- Perform 3D and 2D design of electromechanical components using Catia
- Contribute to new development as well as improvements to existing products
- Support Squad and Team deliveries, working closely with internal and external stakeholders
- Manage design changes and change requests
- Interact with and support external suppliers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in Mechatronics or Mechanical Design
- Experience with design tools such as Catia
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
- Fluent in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or strong interest in electric motor design and development
- Experience in electric motor testing and validation
- Familiarity with motor controllers and motor management systems
- Interest in embedded systems and mechatronics
- Knowledge of electromechanical components, such as wiring and PCB
- Experience working in close collaboration with suppliers and/or customer
